First off, you all rock! I know at some point the plan is to have information displayed on screens in the cockpits. Do we know if the information that is displayed will be in the location selected by the pilot/driver or by the developers? In addition, since not all mechs share the same number of screens/monitors what will be done with the blank/unused screens? Thanks for all you do.

I was browsing through a book store in 1992 when I came across a book that refocused my passion for military sci-fi forever. That book was Decision at Thunder Rift - the first book in The Saga of the Gray Death Legion. I was instantly hooked. I read and then re-read each novel. Soon I discovered the Source Books and my knowledge of BattleTech grew. Shortly after that, I bought a box set complete with the original BattleMechs (known now as the Unseen). I found a friend at work who was interested in playing the tabletop game and we had some epic games with a few more friends. I began collecting the miniatures and soon had a collection numbering over 200, which I still have. I focused my attention on the novels and TT and didn't get into the computer games. That is until I saw the advertisement for MWO on the Catalyst website. Loved what I saw so I signed up and have been learning how to play ever since. I just upgraded my computer so that I will be able to take full advantage of the excellent graphics offered by MWO. A big thank you goes out to all those involved with keeping this awesome franchise of BattleTech/MechWarrior/MWO alive.

My dad and his best friend were long-time fans of BattleTech, first meeting when they played Multiplayer BattleTech based on the MechWarrior computer game. They had a love for the game and the universe (and, inexplicably to this loyal son of the Suns, the Draconis Combine). Something that was passed on to me in the form of a video cassette. My dad's friend had recorded the first (and only) season of the BattleTech animated series and sent it to me. I was instantly hooked.

I wouldn't get a chance to play the tabletop game until almost ten years later. My friend Jeromy and I met a man named Thomas Doughty at the local game store who played the game with his friend Dave. By the end of the evening, I was piloting a (slightly modified) RFL-5M against a Marauder II. It was a good night.

As a teenager (more than two decades ago), my friends and I would play almost any role-playing game or table-top game we could get our hands on.

Battle Tech was one of them, but none of us really got into it like we did other games ... we did have some pretty cool battles, but it didn't really click with us then.

About a decade ago, I started building my own gaming computers and MW4:Mercs came bundled with a graphics card. This re-introduced me to BattleTech at exactly the wrong time (I wish it had been MW:3, and that I had played four or five video games instead of just one), but I have played through the single player campaign of MW4:Mercs probably 50 times since then.

Like most of us, when the MW5 concept trailer came out, I was breathless and could not wait ... MW:O has me hooked.

Flamers and environmental effects.
If I may ask, does the MWO Dev team intend to introduce environmental effects to in-game static assets eg: trees, buildings ect due to damage caused by flamer weapon systems and will this environmental heat effect mechs such as in the TT rules sets, and if so does the dev team also intend to include tertiary effects such as smoke (optical interference ) heat (thermal interference) and excessive light(night vision)

discussion point- Jump Jets and secondary effects.
Should there be secondary effects present when jump jets are employed. should there be a larger or longer lasting dust cloud effect on take off and landing, should the thermal signature be more prevalent when jump-jets are in use and would this increase the detection signature of a mech or negate the presence of Ecm coverage.

As they say, Knowledge is Power. I've enjoyed the new UAV and Seismic Sensor modules, as well as the added anti-ECM functionality for BAP. Two related questions:

Several Years ago I visited one of my friends. As I entered his room I found him playing this amazing game with mechas, and explosions, and lasers and guns! And there was an awesome anouncer talking in the background called Duncan Fisher! It was Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, and it was the first time I encountered the franchise. A few years later, two of my friends aquired Mechassault for the Xbox and I imidietly made the connection.
It wouldn't be until several years later however that I truly was introduced to the franshice, but it was still thanks to MW4 and Mechassault, as I out of nostalgia set out to see if I could aquire those games (mainly MW4), and I found that MekTek had made it available for free! It was also during this time that I found out Mechwarrior was really just a game franchise set in battletech, and soon after I began searching for mech art on Deviantart. What did I find? David A White's fantastic art, that's what I found!

I was awestruck by his work, and he quickly became my favouritie all time mech artist. It was through his Deviantart page that I found out he'd been working with making art for battletech and that it actually was a tabletop wargame, and as a person who had been collecting Warhammer 40K models since I was 12, I knew I HAD to get some! Sadly, sweden isn't exacatly known for being very active when it comes to the battletech tabletop game, but I managed to find the 25th Anniversery box in a local store and imidietly bought it! Although i was a little bit dissapointed in the quality of some of the minatures (not counting the Thor and Loki), the other contents managed to draw me in! Around the same time MWO's main web page had gone up and I was looking through the factions, and when I saw that there was basicly a swedish/scandinavian faction I was like "Say Whaaaaaaaaa!?", which drew me in even further. Then I found the Roleplaying game, MW: Living Legends and, well I was sold!

To be honest I truly got stuck on the series this and last years, but perticulary so these last three months, as it was during this time that I found out about Ral Partha Europe and that I could order minatures from them, and also when I first found out about you.

I must really thank you guys for the content you produce, It is awesome to listen to you guys talk about battletech stuff while I paint, and now even MAKE my own miniatures! (I've made a mech and an aerospace fighter and I found that I had a talent for making such things). I now got an Order from Iron Wind Metals on it's way to look forward to (One word: Omega) and I recently bought the elite founders package for MW: Tactics.

It is hard being the only swedish Battletech fan I know of, but you guys are part of what makes it worthwhile!

So thank you!

PS. Totally buying that Awesome NGNG soundtrack.
PPS. Nevermind, I doesn't let me finish the bloody transaction. It just tells me to contact the system admin. Oh well, there's always later.
